Sienna Rose Diana Miller (born 28 December 1981) is a British-American actress, model, and fashion designer. In 2008, she was nominated for the BAFTA Rising Star Award, while for her role as Tippi Hedren in the 2012 TV film The Girl, she was nominated for a BAFTA TV Award for Best Actress and a Golden Globe Award for Best Actress. Gold Incense is the new fragrance from Carolina Herrera’s exclusive perfume line Herrera Confidential, and the first fragrance of its sub-collection Eastern Treasures which celebrates the Arab heritage, alchemy and culture, as well as fragrances that are synonymous with luxury. Gold Incense reportedly fuses power and majestic beauty.
Carolina Herrera de Baez, creative director of the house and the daughter of its founder, evokes memories of her mother with the new fragrance; her admiration for the cultures of the Middle East and scents of timeless elegance. The fragrance is a modern reinterpretation of frankincense as an ancient perfumery ingredient.
“The unparalleled scent of incense remained our primary inspiration, the evocative aromas of the different varieties, intense colors characteristic of the Middle East and its deserts, and warm hospitality integral to Arab traditions.” Carolina Herrera de Baez.
The composition is signed by perfumer Pierre Constantin Gueros. The idea was to depict another time and compound materials such as gold and frankincense. “Powerful and elegant, Gold Incense evokes memories from another time and place with a modern olfactive structure bringing together the mystic scent of tapestries imbued with centuries of incense smoke and the modern luxury of the Middle East.”
The fragrance opens with marigold, angelica seed, bergamot and cinnamon. Its smoky and resinous heart includes Atlas cedar and labdanum, based on incense from Boswellia Sacra tree, sandalwood and vanilla caviar from Madagascar.

REI KAWAKUBO |COMME DES GARCONS: ART OF THE IN-BETWEEN
The Costume Institute’s spring 2017 exhibition will examine the work of Japanese fashion designer Rei Kawakubo, known for her avant-garde designs and ability to challenge conventional notions of beauty, good taste, and fashionability. The thematic show will feature approximately 150 examples of Kawakubo’s womenswear for Comme des Garçons dating from the early 1980s to her most recent collection.
The galleries will illustrate the designer’s revolutionary experiments in “in-betweenness”—the space between boundaries. Objects will be organized into eight aesthetic expressions of interstitiality in Kawakubo’s work: Fashion | Anti-Fashion, Design | Not Design, Model | Multiple, Then | Now, High | Low, Self | Other, Object | Subject, and Clothes | Not Clothes. Kawakubo breaks down the imaginary walls between these dualisms, exposing their artificiality and arbitrariness.
